According to Savills, a modern logistics centre should be equipped with contemporary warehousing facilities,14 which are characterised by: • Direct vehicle access with ramps across floors; • Ample space and parking lots for cross-docking; • High ceiling of at least 15 feet for three-pallet storage; • Large floor plate of at least 50,000 square feet; • Sufficient power supply; • Heavy floor loading with a minimum of 200 pounds per square foot; • Temperature-controlled storage areaIn addition, a modern logistics centre should also have an extensive application of information technology.
